Some of you have been wanting to see Alice, after hearing her speak so eloquently about visual impairment and handy gadgets from the Association for the Blind on AARP Radio. We had a lot of fun in the WAMC studio last week. Alice wished she had brought along her hearing aides, but she managed to be the star despite all difficulties.
Here is Alice navigating the outdoors. I wish I had a picture of her sitting on her walker seat in the middle of a newly-painted apartment, directing friends of all ages who helped her move into her apartment at assisted living. She had it all mapped out – where everything would go, despite not being able to see.
